Chairmen FOURTH of JULY Performance!
Chairmen at the Golden Age Theater

At Christmas we were invited to sing as the opening act at the Golden Age Theater here in Hollywood. We enjoyed the especially responsive and welcoming audience, and they enjoyed our performance so much that we have been invited back to sing several times.
Please check our calendar to see when we will be performing there again!
Chairmen Caroling

Christmas time again in Los Angeles. This year we sang again at one of our favorite venues. The space goes up about 15 storeys and the reverb is awesome!
This year in addition to the Christmas repertoire we had requests for "Doo-Wop" songs to which we happily responded.
Chairmen Christmas Choir Show

The Chairmen were featured along with the charming and beautiful soloist, Sisu Raiken ( click here ) in the 2007 annual choir Christmas Show. Here you can see our performance of "The Christmas Song" with the stunning arrangement by Frank Bloebaum as heard on Acoustix "Cool Yule" album.
We also sang several of our other Christmas favorites then joined the choir to sing several more pieces finishing with Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" accompanied by brass and tympani.
Off the Cuff III

The Chairmen performed Sunday, January 28th, 2007 at the third "Off the Cuff" Variety Show at Celebrity Centre in the Pavilion in Hollywood. With Bill out of town, we once again were fortunate to call upon Dave Miller to sing with us at the show.

Lance Miller , Toastmasters International's 2005 World Champion of Public Speaking was the Master of Ceremonies. We joined our friends Sisu Raiken who performed part of her one-woman show "Trimming the Fat from Opera" . Kerri Tyler who did part of her Las Vegas act (as "Wynonna"). "Elegant Music" with Sheila Zimmermann , flute Eric Zimmermann , piano plus Teri Parker , Violin Cathy Biagini , Cello and Julia Cunningham , harp, performing arrangements by Eric. And the fabulous "Laughworks" who are: Tom Solari , Clark Carr , Alexis Corey , Michael Norris , Noelle North , Kari Shaw , Richard Stewart and Fritz Turner .
The whole event was video'd with a two-camera shoot and we'll add clips to this website as they become available.
Christmas Stories XIV
This year the Chairmen were once again proud to participate in "Christmas Stories" at Celebrity Centre in Hollywood. These shows on two consecutive nights in December (presented as a 1930's style radio show) benefit the Hollywood Police Department's "Police Activities League" (PAL). Our tenor, Scott Bradberry, had committments in Florida, so we recruited Dave Miller for the show who performed admirably!

The Russian Orchestra / Anson Ford Theatre
The Chairmen performed at the Anson Ford Theatre with The Russion Orchestra in Hollywood. One of the songs we sang was in Russian: "Vecherniy Zvon". This was quite a challenge and we studied the (for us) unusual vocalizations and consonants a lot because we wanted to be understood. We passed muster as at intermission a number of people came up to us chattering away in Russian, assumming we were fluent. Los Angeles boasts a large Russian community and the orchestra members are composed of highly talented musicians trained in the former soviet state.

Chairmen at the Ranch

The Chairmen love a barbeque as much as anyone else. In our case, we usually sing for our supper. Here we are entertaining Bob and Barb's guests as well as corralling dinner points.
Chairmen Caroling

We often are hired for caroling gigs at Christmas time in Los Angeles. We have a book of standards done in (mostly) barbershop style. While it looks really cold, it was about 80F degrees while we were singing...
Serious Performance
Our somber demeanor and vast liturgical catalog of Gregorian chant lands us exciting gigs for all kinds of accountant, mortician and banking community parties. Here we are singing the cantus firmus from "Hymn to the mostly dead"...

New Year's 1999 at the Shrine Auditorium
Almost the new millenia we were invited to sing at a New Year's event at the Shrine Auditorium. It was cold that night and here we are with our cafe lattes, except for Bill (of course) who never touches the stuff.
